Description: This workshop informs participants of the key components in completing the required early childhood indicators for
Illinois: Least Restrictive Environments SPPI 6, Early Childhood Outcomes SPPI 7, and, Transition SPPI 12. Participants will review and
analyze their actual indicator data to make informed decisions for student and program growth. They will review and summarize
research-based practices from the early childhood field to better understand the impact of these indicators on overall student
growth. The participants will develop an action plan to facilitate programmatic improvement in the overall performance in one of
the indicators.

Description: This pre-conference session is designed to support early interventionists in writing informative, understandable,
strengths-based early intervention reports. This session will highlight key policies and procedures, as well as common challenges
encountered in report writing. Participants will be encouraged to think critically about what to relay as well as how to relay their
assessment findings to families and other team members in a meaningful manner.
- Supporting Families When Children’s Behavior Becomes Challenging!Collaborator: Early Intervention

Description: This pre-conference will help early interventionists support families of infants and toddlers with challenging behavior.
Using a social emotional lens to understand the dynamics of challenging behavior, participants will begin to understand the impact
these challenging behaviors have on parents and other caregivers, as well as identify elements of an effective and collaborative
intervention plan, which will support the child and family. Family stories and videos will be used to demonstrate the use of a positive
behavior support plan, including the use of individualized, intensive strategies aimed at supporting the child in his/her daily routines
and activities.

a parent is going through? Sadly, not all parents of children with disabilities are aware that legal protection is available for them. This
presentation offers both parents and professionals the basics to successfully work with schools for their child’s educational future.
Protection of the parent/school relationship is the most important aspect of successfully advocating for a child with disabilities.
Professionals can easily educate parents in this model of parent/school relationship building without jeopardizing their position.

Description: Erikson Institute Fussy Baby Network’s FAN Approach will help home visitors and EI Specialists learn to read
parent’s cues for engagement and match their interventions to what the parents are showing you they can most use in the
moment. You will also learn to understand and mindfully regulate your own emotional responses during challenging times in
home visits. Through video, role-play and discussion, participants will apply the approach in their own practice.
